- What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer when you visit different websites and are stored for a predetermined period of time. They allow us to keep track of what is in your shopping basket and help us to recognise you when you visit our site again. To shop on the website, you must allow the use of cookies. Without it, you can browse the website, but you cannot fill in forms or purchase products. It is important to stress that cookies are not harmful to your computer. The cookies we use do not store any identifiable personal data (e.g. credit card information). With the above information, we would like to emphasise that visiting our website does not compromise your privacy and is in full compliance with the relevant legal requirements. For more information about cookies in general and how you can manage them, please visit aboutcookies.org
- Cookie management
By default, most browsers are set to automatically accept cookies. Once the default cookie settings are saved in the browser, all processes run in the background without you noticing them. This setting can be changed. You can also set it so that you are always notified when cookies are used and can choose to accept or refuse them on a case-by-case basis, or even to reject cookies altogether. Some websites, including ours, do not function properly without cookies because they need certain files for their routines, such as for handling purchase orders. Therefore, for example, you need to activate cookies to purchase products. If you do not want to enable cookies, you can still browse the website, but you will not be able to send e.g. contact forms or purchase products. To manage cookies, please read the following guidelines for the four most commonly used web browsers:

Below is a list of the most important cookies we use and the purpose for which we use them: - Third party (external) cookies
Cookies are also used by web analytics services and plug-ins (e.g. to share social media content). Further details about these cookies are set out below by the services used on our website.
Google Analytics website statistics
This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (“Google”). Google Analytics also uses text files, called “cookies”, stored on your computer, to help the website analyze the type of website you are using. As a general rule, the cookies that generate information about your use of this website are transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States.
The STIHL website uses Google Analytics together with the additional component “IP anonymisation”. This means that your IP address collected by Google Analytics within the Member States of the European Union or other signatory states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area is shortened by Google before being transmitted to the USA. Only in exceptional cases will your IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA, where it will be shortened on arrival.
On behalf of STIHL, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide the website operator with additional services relating to website and internet use. The IP address sent by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be combined with any other Google data.
By selecting the appropriate settings in their browser software, users can prevent cookies from being stored on their computer, but in this case they may not be able to fully use all the features of this website. You may refuse the collection and processing by Google of data (including your IP address) generated by the cookie about your use of this website. To do this, you must download and install the browser plug-in available at the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en
For more detailed information on the terms of use and data protection, please visit http://www.google.com/analytics/terms/hu.html and https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245?hl=hu
To allow the anonymised collection of IP addresses, Google Analytics has been extended to include the code “gat._anonymizeIp();”, so that IP addresses are processed in truncated form and data cannot be linked to specific individuals. We use the data collected through the Google Analytics web analytics service to optimise and improve our website. The legal basis for the collection and processing of data is your consent and/or our legitimate interest in analysing the use of our website and improving our services in a wide range of areas.
Use of Google Inc. remarketing or “Similar Audiences” feature
We use the remarketing or “Like Target Groups” feature of Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (“Google”) on our sites. This feature allows you to target ads to website visitors so that personalised, interest-based ads are displayed to website visitors when they visit other websites within the Google Display Network. Google uses so-called cookies to analyse the use of the website, on the basis of which interest-based advertising is created. To do this, Google stores a small file containing a series of numbers in the browsers of visitors to the website. Visits to the website and anonymised data about the use of the website are collected via this number. Personal data of website visitors is not usually stored. If you visit another website within the Google Display Network, you will be shown ads that are likely to take into account the product and information areas you have previously selected. For more information about Google Remarketing and the Google Privacy Policy, please visit https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads
If you wish to prevent the collection of data generated by cookies and related to your use of the website (including your IP address) and to exclude the data processed by Google, you can download and install an add-on for your browser by clicking on the following link: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=hu To permanently block the use of cookies by Google, please click on the following link and download and install the add-on provided: https://www.google.com/settings/ads/plugin. For more information about Google remarketing and Google’s privacy policy, please visit: http://www.google.com/privacy/ads/ The legal basis for data collection and processing is your consent and/or our legitimate interest in analysing your use of our website and in improving our services in a wide range of ways.
Using Google Adwords Conversion Tracking
As a Google AdWords customer, we use the conversion tracking analytics service of Google Inc. (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA, “Google”).Google AdWords places a cookie on your computer (“conversion cookie”) when you visit our website through a Google ad. These cookies expire after 30 days and are not used to personally identify you. If you visit certain pages of our website and the cookie has not expired, we and Google may know that someone has clicked on the ad and come to our website. Each advertiser receives a unique cookie. Cookies cannot be tracked through advertisers’ websites. The information collected through the use of a conversion cookie is used to generate conversion tracking statistics for AdWords advertisers who have opted in to conversion tracking. Advertisers will see the total number of users who clicked on their ad and were thus redirected to the conversion tracking page. They will not, however, receive any information that personally identifies users. If you do not wish to participate in tracking, you can opt-out of this type of use by preventing cookies from being installed by setting your browser software accordingly (deactivation option). You will then not be included in the conversion tracking statistics. More information from Google: http://www.google.com/policies/technologies/ads/ http://www.google.com/policies/privacy/

Microsoft Bing
STIHL uses conversion tracking from Microsoft Corporation, One Microsoft Way, Redmond, WA 98052-6399, USA (“Microsoft”). Microsoft Bing Ads places a cookie on your computer, provided you have accessed our website through a Microsoft Bing ad. In this way, both Microsoft Bing and we can see that someone has clicked on an ad, been redirected to our website and reached a pre-defined landing page. However, we only see the total number of users who clicked on a Bing ad and were then redirected to the landing page. In general, no personal information is provided. For more information about privacy and cookies in the Microsoft Bing browser, please visit the Microsoft website at https://privacy.microsoft.com/hu-hu/privacystatement. The legal basis for data collection and processing is your consent and/or our legitimate interest in analyzing your use of our website and improving our services in a broad range of ways.
Google’s DoubleClick service
DoubleClick by Google is a service provided by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (“Google”). DoubleClick by Google uses cookies to provide you with relevant advertising. A pseudonym identification number (ID) is associated with your browser to help you verify which ads are displayed on your browser and which ads are selected. Cookies do not usually contain any personal information. The use of DoubleClick cookies simply enables Google and its partner websites to serve ads based on previous visits to our website or other websites on the internet. The information generated by the cookies is transmitted to and stored on a server in the USA for evaluation purposes. Google will only transfer data to third parties on the basis of legal provisions or in the context of processing on behalf of third parties. Under no circumstances will Google combine your data with other data collected by Google. By selecting the appropriate settings on their browser software, users can prevent cookies from being stored on their computer, but in this case they may not be able to use all the functions on this website to their full extent. For more information about DoubleClick’s privacy practices, please visit https://policies.google.com/?hl=hu. You can also prevent the collection and processing of data generated by cookies about your use of this website by Google. To do this, you need to download and install the browser plug-in available at https://support.google.com/ads/answer/7395996?hl=hu and then select the option to disable DoubleClick in your advertising settings. The legal basis for the collection and processing of data is your consent and/or our legitimate interest in analysing the use of our website and improving our services in a wide range of areas.
